Our special "heavy duty" shaft has a super accurate finish but it is also has an increased wall thickness to approx 3.7mm. This means that although the shaft is totally interchangeable with the original stock version, it is a significant upgrade! The locating plug is in the second post which stopped flex and wear. If you have the original shaft with the locator in the first post you will need to move the post along but get another post to ensure the oil feed to the rockers through the head is not blocked
